In the 1960's, after studying architecture at UCLA, and working in San Antonio, Houston, Jacksonville, Miami Beach, St Augustine, and many other cities, Mid-Century architect CARLOS B. SCHOEPPL (1898-1990) founded CARLOS B. SCHOEPPL & ASSOCIATES, INC. in Clearwater, Florida.
This is an advertisement for that company.
When unfolded, the HUGE advertising poster measures 22" x 17" and has printing on both sides.
It features dozens of hotels, motels, and other projects designed by Schoeppl. This is an important reference for an architect who has yet to receive the recognition he deserves. I have never seen Scheoppl credited for many of the buildings shown in the advertisement.
Includes photos of projects already completed at the time of printing: Hawaiian Village in Tampa, Hotel Fredonia in Nacogdoches Texas, Aztec Motel in Acapulco, Hilton Inn in Hilton Head, Carousel in Cincinnati, Howard Johnson's in Baton Rouge, Lucerne in Miami Beach, Golden Host in Sarasota, Balmoral Hotel in Bal Harbour, Hotel Stafford in Tuscaloosa, Fort Montagu Beach Club in Nassau, Riviera of Atlanta, Rocky Point Motel in Tampa, Marriot in Dallas, Pan American in North Miami Beach, Marriott Key Bridge in Washington DC, Western Hills in Fort Worth, and Hamilton House in Columbus.
and photos of projects still in the planning stage and under construction: Plymouth Inn, Patino Hotel in Mexico City, Satellite in Toronto, Heart of Jacksonville, Kentucky Inn in Louisville, Cafritz Pentagon in Washington DC, Heart A Tampa, Carrousel West in Cincinnati, Emerald Beach Motor Hotel in Biloxi, Hotel Heart of Dayton, Home On The Road in New Braunfels, Heart of Cincinnati, Golden Host Motel in Denver, Las Americas in Mexico, Executive Inn in Evendale Ohio, Indian Hills in Richmond Turnpike, Milton Motor Hotel in Washington DC, Downtown Inn in St Petersburg Florida, Marriott Palisade in Fort Lee, Columbus Plaza, and Heart of Orlando.
