Processor / CPU: To begin, the processor is a powerful Socket A core, AMD XP 3700+ @ 2.2GHZ. This was one of the fastest processors this motherboard officially supports! This is a classic AMD AthlonXP, perfect for most XP games of the era. A heat sink and ball-bearing fan is installed for active cooling.
Motherboard: This is an exceedingly rare, genuine VIA Motherboard featuring three (3) PCI slots and one (1) PCI Express slot for video upgrades! Perfect for your industrial controller software! Also features a serial port and parallel port. Unit uses a standard P/S2-style keyboard and mouse. A new CMOS battery has been installed, good for years!
Storage & Memory: Storage is provided by an 40 Gb IDE Hard Drive that has tons of free space! Drive has been verified with Hitachi's' software and passed. Unit features a full 2GG of Ultra-High speed DDR memory. (Remember, Windows XP was designed to run on 32MB, so 2GB is an insane amount). Memory checks out fine with Memtest'86.
This unit does not include a 1.44 floppy drive. One can be easily added via USB however. Unit will work with USB thumb drives, for easy transfer of software from newer systems. Please remove USB drives when restarting computer.
The high quality 10/100 PCI network card has been installed as well. It is a built-in port, so no extra cards to worry about.
Multimedia: One drive, a fully-functional DVD-ROM is used as the optical drive. The system also includes an genuine 16-bit Crystal-based 32-bit PCI audio for great gaming experience as well.
Video: Unit is running a powerful ATI RADEON Xpress 200 128-bit graphics chipset with 32MB dedicated video with period-correct drivers. Be aware that always running the 'latest' drivers does not guarantee compatibility with games. Drivers are optimized for the period of time the unit was in the mainstream of computers. This is tremendous power to run almost any XP game of the era.
Software: Unit is running Windows XP Media Center Edition, with all drivers and devices correctly loaded. A fully-intact restore partition is included in case you need to recover Windows at any time. Windows memory managers have been loaded to maximize resources. Classic Norton Utilities is installed and has verified and optimized the hard drive. Windows COA is attached to the case. Unit can be booted to a standard DOS prompt for low-level software or gaming!
