All 78 episodes from the classic, glossy 1980s series, following former aircraft designer Tom Howard (Maurice Colborne) as he uproots his family and decides to take over a run-down boat construction yard instead. As his family struggle to come to terms with their new circumstances, Tom finds happiness in these idyllic new surroundings. Jan Harvey also stars. Howards' Way was the BBC's answer to the wave of glamorous dramas coming out of the States in the Eighties like Dallas and Dynasty. With a backdrop of a booming boatyard, and characters drawn from the business and yachting set of the fictional south-coast town of Tarrant, this is Thatcher-era TV at its finest: aspirational, entrepeneurial and full of conspicuous consumption. Through the programme's run the plots got wilder, the bed-hopping more frantic and the shoulder-pads grew ever wider. These DVDs contains every episode from the entire series.
