An attractive map centred on Windsor and covering Thorpe in the South, Colnbrook in the east, Wexham in the north and Sunninghill in the west. 

DATE PRINTED: 1848.

SIZE: The printed area including titles is approximately 21 x 12.5 cm, 8.25 x 5 inches (small) plus margins. 

ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER:  Drawn and engraved by James Wyld. James Wyld (1812–1887) was a British geographer and map-seller, best known for Wyld's Great Globe. He was the eldest son of James Wyld the Elder (1790–1836) and Eliza (née Legg). In 1838, he married Anne, the daughter of John Hester, and had two children, one of whom, James John Cooper Wyld also became a map publisher.

PROVENANCE:  Published in "Windsor Castle and its Environs" by Leitch Ritchie Esq.  Published in 1848 by Henry Bohn, London.  This map was first published in 1842 in "Environs of London. Western Division" by John Fisher Murray.  For the Ritchie publication the imprint with Wyld's name was removed.

TYPE: Antique plate engraving printed on paper.

VERSO: There is nothing printed on the reverse side, which is blank.

CONDITION: Good, suitable for framing.  Please check the scan for any blemishes prior to making your purchase.
