1955 Topps Baseball - # 191 Ed Stanky, manager, St. Louis Cardinals

The 1955 Topps baseball cards are the first set printed horizontally by Topps.  # 175, 186, 302 and 209 were never issued

High Numbers # 161 to # 210 were issued in slightly smaller numbers, making them more rare

One of the high numbers

Joined the St. Louis Cardinals as manager in 1952 after a brilliant playing career with the Dodgers, Braves and Giants

Called the "Brat," they said he couldn't hit, field or throw, but was one of the most dangerous men in baseball, hitting over .300 in 1950

Famous for standing up for Jackie Robinson in the middle of racist taunts from the Phillies dugout in a game in 1947 calling them cowards for abusing a player who couldn't fight back
