1966 Banner Tarzan Card  # 23 Monster From The Depths (NM)

The 1966 Banner Productions, Inc. Tarzan set issued by Barratt & Co. Ltd. of London, England consists of 50 cards measuring 1 3/8 X 2 1/2". The front of the cards have colorful cartoon scenes from the TV show framed by a thin white border and the back of the cards contain the set name, logo, card number, card title and a brief description of the the scene on the front.

The Edgar Rice Burroughs tale of an orphaned child who is raised by apes continues to provide material for films even today. Maybe it is because despite being found by his grandfather and returned to so-called civilization he remained a wild-man and later returned to Africa where there was always some drama awaiting that required his special talents and bond with the animals. This set of colorful cartoons was based on the 1966 TV show which starred Ron Ely as the legendary ape man who along with chimp Cheeta and small boy known as Jai battles poachers and hostile tribes etc.
