The Bahamas 1 Dollar Banknote from 1974-ND 1992 was issued to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus 1492 landfall at San Salvador. Its obverse side features the quincentennial logo, sand dollar, compass rose, and a portrait of Italian explorer Christopher Columbus. The reverse side features a Caribbean flamingo, Bahaman parrots, White cay iguana, the coat of arms of Bahamas, and the map of San Salvador island with Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria ships. The note does not contain any security threads however it measures 156 x 67 mm.
