Attention Collectors!

Rare Book

 From 1686

Here is a very scarce antiquarian hardcover book that would be a fantastic addition to a collection!

You are bidding on a super rare hardcover book! The book is in English. The full title from the title page is:

"A Discourse Concerning Prayer; Especially of Frequenting the Dayly Publick Prayers". In Two Parts. By S. P. Dean of Peterborough, and Chaplain in Ordinary to His Majesty.

The book was printed in London: "Printed by J. M. for Rich. Royston, Bookseller to His Most Sacred Majesty, 1686." This is the very scarce and collectible First Edition.

That's right, this book is from 1686!!!

The author, Simon Patrick, was an English theologian and bishop. He was appointed Dean of Peterborough in 1679, and Bishop of Chichester in 1689, in which year he was employed, along with others of the new bishops, to settle the affairs of the Church in Ireland. His sermons and devotional writings are numerous, and his Commentary on the Historical and Poetical Books of the Old Testament, was reprinted in the 1810 “Critical Commentary on the Old and New Testaments and Apocrypha”.

A charming first edition leather bound devotional book on prayer, “A Discourse concerning Prayer” divulges the efficacy of prayer and the different ways in which to engage in the spiritual practice. An incredible 17th century work, highly desirable for any theologian, pastor, or lay person!

This is a super rare book. I conducted a search and could not find another one like it! Imagine owning a book that is over 330 years old! Wow!!!
