You are bidding on a super rare hardcover book! The book is in Latin so I am having some difficulty in describing exactly what it is about. The title is L. Annaei Senecae Opera, Quae Exstant. This is Volume I (of three) of the Works of Lucius Annaeus Seneca (c. 4BC- AD 65). The text is accompanied by the notes of Justus Lipsius and of Johannes Gronovius. The book was printed in Amstelodami (Amsterdam) by Danielem Elsevirium, 1672.

This is a super rare book. I conducted a search and could not find another one like it! Imagine owning a book that is over 340 years old! Wow!!!

This antique book has vellum binding (sheep skin). The covers are firmly attached with no cracking of hinges. There is some spotting to the vellum but it is in overall very good condition. The book has some wonderful illustrations. There is also a lovely swirling design on all three page ends. This is a thick book of 869 pages. All pages are clean and tightly bound. There is very light and sporadic foxing.

This is a super rare book and is in very good condition!

Would make a terrific addition to a collection.

Wonderful gift idea!
