You are bidding on a rare antique set of hardcover books that were published in Tubingen, Germany. Tübingen is a traditional university town in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 30 km (19 miles) southwest of the state capital, Stuttgart, on a ridge between the Neckar and Ammer rivers.

This terrific set is in German. I don't read German but I can tell it is some sort of religious set. The set is complete in two volumes and you are bidding on both volumes.

Books are by M. Magnus Friedrich Roos.

Here is some info from the title page:

Die Lehre und Lebensgeschichte Jesu Christi des Sohnes Gottes nach den vier Evangelisten entworfen

Volume I was published in Tubingen, Germany, 1776 and Volume II in 1777! Imagine, these books were printed the same year America declared her independence!

An extremely rare and valuable set!

There are very old hand-written spine title labels.

There are 647 pages in Volume I and 546 pages in Volume II. All pages are tightly bound. The pages have light scattered foxing. Volume I has a great illustrated frontispiece. Front fly leaf on Volume II has been removed. Binding shows general wear. Volume II has some chipping along spine edges. Previous owner info on inside of front covers.

The books are still in very good condition, especially considering their age.

These are a rare and desirable imprints from Tubingen, Germany!

Very collectible!

Would make a terrific addition to a collection.
