5 re-felted & refurbished ZX / QL microdrive cartridges with a single original Sinclair notepaper sheet, 5 new labels with the Sinclair logo and new blank adhesive end cartridge labels.

These cartridges have been formatted three times on different (refurbished and fully functioning) microdrives and each have a capacity of at least 85k and often over 90k. They have been formatted on a ZX Spectrum and will therefore need to be reformatted if you intend to use them on a QL. Occasionally, when I format a cartridge, it might return a capacity of over 98k and in some cases over 100k, this often indicates that the tape has stretched near to the point of failure (snapping) and I will remove such cartridges from sale.

Refurbishment includes the removal of old labels if written on, or covered with a new label if the removal of the old label might cause damage to the cartridge. Also, the write protect tab will have been restored if the original tab had been removed by a previous owner. It can easily be removed if needed.

Please remember that these cartridges are over 35 years old and therefore no warranty is offered. UK delivery cost is included in the price. The photos are generic and therefore not of the specific items that you will receive, but all items dispatched will match the advertised description.

IMPORTANT:

If your microdrives haven't been refurbished (electrolytic capacitors replaced, rubber roller refreshed and the read / write head not cleaned with IPA) then you are unlikely to match the capacity that they show for me when I prepare them for dispatch. Also, different microdrives may return different capacities for the same cartridge, so please bear this in mind should you reformat the cartridges yourself.

Never use cartridges that have not been re-felted. The original felt pads will have degraded over the last 35 years, regardless of use and will likely cause damage to the cartridge if they are used. Use of cartridges with the original pads can cause the remains of the pad to be drawn into the cartridge and therefore render them inoperable.
