A lovely diamond shaped JUGENDSTIL brooch c1900, which was probably made by one of the Fahrner designers in Pforzheim, Germany. It is a lovely, understated piece of Jugendstil / Secession design that has clearly been carefully handcrafted.

The design features a central hardstone cab of dark blue / brown (Jasper?) swirls which has been set into its collared setting with fine mille grain detailing. The brooch is made in hammered (planished) silver, which is typical for the Arts and Crafts feel of that era.

I love the four sections of bead work design on the four lateral sides of the brooch. It also retains its original pin and C clasp. It is stamped "900" and I cannot see any other marks.

In lovely condition, this has clearly been away in a drawer and forgotten about. It has wonderful patina which completely enhances the look of the hammered silver. A beauty with an unusual dark stone. It measures approx 3.6cm by 2.4cm.

These quality pieces are really becoming more difficult to find. I shall send in a new gift box by Tracked and signed or International Tracked and Signed. Thank you!
