This beautiful midcentury modern writing desk was made by Franciscan Furniture of Albuquerque, NM.

This is a long, narrow piece, perfect for a tight space or as an accent piece.
It measures 72" wide x 20.5" deep and 30" tall.

All drawers are marked "Franciscan Furniture".
This company, founded in Albuquerque, catered to the rapidly expanding motel industry in the area created by Route 66 travelers.
Although I'm not sure how this piece was acquired, it has been in our family for approx 40 years.

There are three drawers:
One on the left as you sit at the desk is about 4" deep x 22" wide. It is missing one of the handle knobs.
The two drawers on the right (as you sit) are approx 5" deep and 22" wide. They have the original hardware.
The screws on the handles may have been replaced, not sure

Wood appears to be oak. All hardware seems to be original.
The legs are wobbly, but I suspect could be stabilized. Nothing appears to be broken or repaired.
This is an interesting design as there are 3 legs across the front of the piece, and only two in the back. This appears to be all original also.
Finish has normal wear and tear; there is some rounding on the corners, and some of the finish is starting to crack.
Top is laminated; I believe this is original, but don't have a comparison piece.
