Piston rings are responsible for sealing the pistons against the cylinder Block.
They serve to ensure compression in the engine cylinder, as well as stop oil from entering the combustion chamber.
Worn Piston rings will commonly cause the following symptoms:
- Loss of power (reduced compression)
- Excessive oil consumption
- Excessive smoke from the exhaust
