A pair of slate-amber colored art glass shades with a very unusual body design featuring a 4-sided organic profile with tall portals (openings) along the corners. These were among a collection of vintage lamp bases sourced from an east coast antiquities dealer but I would date them closer to a contemporary period. There is no debate these are hand made as the glass is quite uneven all around and lends a distinctive personality for those who appreciate hand-crafted, functional art.
Each shade has a 1 5/8 inch hole drilled for mounting. One shade has a minor manufacturing defect in the form of a smooth-edged crack (see inside blue circle in the last picture). It measures less than 1 inch, appears to have been fused smooth with heat and does not extend to the glass edge.
If you're in the market for a highly unusual set of lamp, sconce or pendant lights with a soothing warm personality, these may be an ideal candidate.
