This astonishing ring is set with a GIA-certificated, natural, earth-mined princess-cut diamond. It weighs a very impressive 1.50 carat.
Modern princess cut diamonds integrate the incredible fire that is associated with the round brilliant-cut, with the contemporary appearance of a square stone. The princess cut was designed for achieving maximum brilliance from a square-cut gemstone. Their flat tables also act as windows into the diamonds' centres, allowing one to see the true, animated, beauty of the gems. The flat tables also create the illusion of the diamonds weighing more than their true carat-weight.
This diamond is of exceptional white colour D, which means that it is the most perfect white colour possible. Its colour could not be improved upon and this is the highest colour-grade that any diamond can be awarded.
It is of SI1 clarity, and this is a very respectable clarity grade for a diamond, particularly one of such large size. (Please see chart below for further information on colour and clarity).
The ring, with 4-claw setting, is very chunky indeed. It is heavily-made of solid, fully-hallmarked platinum 950, the noblest of the precious metals. When you wear platinum, the other precious metals fade in significance: It is non-allergenic and has a density and richness that is second-to-none. Its natural whiteness is permanent, requiring no maintenance whatsoever. The ring is currently a UK size M (USA size 6 1/2) but could easily be re-sized to fit, if necessary.
