This is a beautiful vintage Christmas Ornament
purchased new late 1960’s to 1978. This was made by two ladies from the
1960's to the late 1970's. They bought all their materials from Europe and
started making these in a much larger size, with brocade tapestry scenes,
Swarovski crystal rhinestones, gold braids and sold them originally at
Christmas Shop in Seattle's premier Department store, Frederick and Nelson. In
the 70's for some reason the ornaments went to another Seattle department store
next door called The Bon. I think due to their age, and mostly due to the
inability to obtain quality materials from Europe any longer, the ornaments
became plainer and smaller.
This ornament was purchased in approximately 1970, part of family collection. this one is oval/egg shaped, with green velveteen, gold tone braid, rhinestones, and a tapestry of a beautiful Church, trees and snow. Clear rhinestones, gold lame cloth, and braid in greens and golds. This is a almost typical New England scene. The ornament is in excellent condition, 7 1/2 " long including the finial at bottom, and 4 " diameter. Shipping in a medium flate rate priority box. MAKE AN OFFER SOON!!!!!
