OOAK Wearable Art Collage Statement Necklace 
"Wingsical Whims"

My newest unique artwork necklace, created from a mix of reclaimed vintage and new jewelry components. There is a section from a chunky bracelet that has hand painted cabochons with teal green, silver, copper, orange and yellow set in silver that sets the tone and color scheme and is the focal point of the piece. Built around that are the vintage brooches~ one with real turquoise chip stones, and one copper colored butterfly with roses of coral, yellow and offwhite~ There is a new Betsey Johnson Birds in a Cage charm, and new large beads and bauble accents~ Whimsical peacock feather strands and mohair yarn adorn the left side and are capped off with a flower charm. The bib is connected together with a large chunky Figaro chain bracelet on one side and a silver beaded bracelet on the other. A spring ring clasp hooks in the back. 

Many of the Components used will show some age and wear (by design). Some are new, and look new~ My favorite way to design is to mix old and new. So most of my pieces have some of both. With most of them having more vintage and recycled parts than new. But every piece is different. Even if I remake the same design, it will never come out exactly the same. 

Measures approx 18" around (the top chain). If you measure from your neck to the bottom of the center leaf pendant it is 5.5". To the bottom of the longest dangle strands in the front (from your neck, right at the throat), it is a total length of 7.5". The width of the bib is approx. 6" across, at widest spot.  

I guarantee the quality of my work! Each piece is carefully constructed to be sturdy and long lasting. With that said, I DO USE mostly old and recycled components. So take care to keep the pieces dry, and not to expose them to any excessive stress. The best way to store the pieces I have found, is to either lay them completely flat on a material that will keep them still, or to hang them up from 2 pegs instead of a single one, to alleviate the stress of the weight on the closure hardware, because they do have some weight to them. But they are not uncomfortable to wear. I take care to cover any portions of the backside that may pick your clothes, or scratch your skin.  

With all of my pieces, I use a variety of techniques which include using jump rings, gluing, sewing, tying, weaving, and more, to connect and secure components. As far as glues go, I use a variety of different kinds. I have learned over time, which ones work best for which applications. I seal old enamels, and cover old stones with a clear adhesive to keep them from chipping, or falling out, and seal jump rings to prevent them from opening. The entire piece is created to be durable as well as beautiful.
