From the internet:  " 'Bingen on the Rhine' is a poem by 19th century poet Caroline Elizabeth Sarah Norton (1808-1877). It was first published in 1867. In February 1877, Gilbert Blythe recited it at the Debating Club concert on Diana Barry's birthday."

This is a charming illustrated book of the poem published by John C. Winston.  It was copyright 1883 by Porter & Coates, so I don't know the precise date this version was published.  It looks to be a ca 1900 publication.  There are nine full page B&W illustrations - the list of illustrations and illustrators is shown in the listing photo, and the poem itself has illustrated borders.  The book is in GOOD CONDITION, with moderate to heavy board edge wear, a lightly penciled (could be erased) "From..  To..." inscription that is dated 1907.  Unpaginated I count 24 single sided thick leaves (the copyright information is behind the Title Page leaf - no other double-sided leaves) plus two endpapers.  The pages are all bound, but there is looseness in the binding.  The pages have faint age-toning/foxing around the edges.

Overall a NICE COPY OF A CHARMING ANTIQUE ILLUSTRATED VERSION OF A 19th CENTURY POEM.
