Lourioux Le Faune Porcelain Tureen, Birds On A Branch Casserole

Louis Lourioux was a potter born in France in 1894. He was a contemporary of such great artists as Lalique and Gallé. In 1924 he took over running of a Buchon and Legros Porcelain Factory, which was established in 1840 in Foecy. He died in 1930 at the age of 35 in a car accident. The factory was then run by his wife until 1949. (Per Theoldstuff.com)

This magnificent porcelain covered baking dish has the trademark showing made in France by Louis Lourioux Porcelain Factory. This piece is pre-owned but in good condition. The birds and gold trim are beautiful on the white glazed background. No crazing, cracks, or chips in either the lid or bowl. Discoloration on the bottom.  I have not seen this backstamp before.  I suspect it is older but not sure.

This will be a great piece for a housewarming gift, anniversary gift, or gift to a collector.

The oval baking dish is 10 inches long, 7 inches wide, and 3.5 inches tall.
When the lid is in place on the bowl the height is about 5.5 inches tall.
