ABOUT THE SEAL

The stamp portrays Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira in the foreground when he assumed the presidency in 1955. Dominating the whole composition, the colors green, yellow and blue have a strong nationalist appeal, symbol of the patriotic love of this great statesman. On the colors come four buildings, true national monuments: The Three Powers Square - heart of Brasilia, the Alvorada Palace, and, sprouting among the trees of the Central Plateau, one of the pioneer buildings of Brasilia - Catetinho - "The palace where JK was staying and dispatching. To the right, over the blue, the Cathedral of Brasília raises "his hands put towards the Sky", having ahead the Candangos that, like JK, believed in the dream and constructed the Capital of the future. The PVA technique was used on paper.
