HER MASTER'S WALKS
IN WENSLEYDALE

2007 REVISED EDITION

By Stephen I. Robinson

Wensleydale is the largest of all the Yorkshire Dales. It is a green and fertile valley, with many natural and man-made features. Its rich blend of limestone scars, wild moorland and green pastures contrasts dramatically with its swiftly flowing rivers and plunging waterfalls. Wensleydale carves its way through the very heart of the Yorkshire Dales and is joined by many tributary valleys. Coverdale, one of the larger tributaries was the favourite haunt of Richard III who lived at Middleham Castle. Those with an interest in geology, history and nature will find the valley abundant in riches.

Each title in the series Her Master's Walks consists of ten routes. All of the walks follow circular routes ranging from 5.5 to 9.5 miles (8.8 to 15.3km).

The walks consist of a two page descriptive guide and a full colour map with numbered arrow pointers. The route directions include grid references to aid map reading. The map and route directions face each other in the book, enabling all essential information for the walk to be viewed. Page size 136mm x 210mm portrait.
