Mercury Records ordered this award to be sent out to radio stations,  DJ's,  TV and tour production executives who participated in promoting COME ON OVER.  The award and gorgeous framed photo of one of the most beautiful singers in the world was overproduced purposefully by request of Mercury for after release requests.  There are always requests for awards years after the album is certified at various stages of  "the millions"  of sales it achieves.   A limited number of these were found in my father's Music Row workshop upon his passing a few years ago.  Kenneth Kittinger was the premier gold record legend in Nashville and throughout the music industry.  Google him at   "Ken Kittinger Gold Records"   Click on "images"  when you're there to see just a fraction of the hundreds and hundreds of awards he made over his 50 years in the business.
