Currently a private limited company known as the Kornilov Porcelain Factory. The main figure of the plant was Mikhail Kornilov. In 1869 he became a sole owner of the factory, and after his death ownership passed to his wife and children.

History:

1835 was the year when the Kornilov brother’s porcelain factory was founded. The company was built in Saint Petersburg, on the right Bank of the Neva River. The location of the plant became very favorable for future activities: the sources of necessary raw materials were located quite close, and there was a transport hub nearby. Thanks to rapid development, orders from the Imperial family began to arrive here within a few years.

Masters were not afraid to experiment with the shape of products, developed new porcelain, improving the material. In the second half of the XIX century. The company not only achieved the success of the Imperial porcelain factory, but in many ways surpassed it in terms of technical characteristics of products. Since the 1880s, the factory has been producing souvenir items dedicated to memorable dates and famous events. Toys and man-made flowers were often presented to loved ones as gifts.

The sculptures are made on the basis of popular motifs at that time. There are figures of flower girls, gardeners, shepherds – the life of commoners is displayed in various figurines that are now collected in collections that are stored in museums and collectors around the world. As for dishes, its variety is striking: in addition to the usual plates, the Kornilov brother’s factory is famous for small saucers for sweets and pies, salad bowls, glasses, various forms of kettles, even pans and pans. The surface of the porcelain was decorated with more than just patterns: you can find products with beautiful compositions that make up a specific story.
