Book is overall in very good shape, but I have listed it as "good" according to eBay's designations for the following reasons:

1) The cover is in excellent condition overall. The striations shown on the spine (see photo 2) were present when I purchased the book from the publisher.

2) The name on the inside of the front cover has been whited out (see photo 4).

3) There is some small wrinkling due to water in the upper right corner of the first handful of pages (through the preface; no longer present as of the first page of chapter 1). It is quite minimal and does not affect one's ability to read the text in any way. See photos 5-6 for examples.

4) There is separation of the spine at the very end of the text (part of the subject index, p. 634-635). See photo 7.

5) Any writing was done in pencil, and has since been erased.

The cover and body of the book are in great shape in general, and this text has plenty of life left in it!
