This chair has been in the same family since it was purchased in the mid/late 19th century.

It is made of satinwood, a light but durable wood and was hand painted in the fashion of its times.

The chair has only been used lightly since new, is 100% original and has never had any restoration work except for replacement of the cane segments (every 20 years or so) and an occasional polish.  As a result, the painted work is almost intact and completely untouched. The seat canes are relatively new but the back panel will need replacement at some point (there are many craftspeople now offering this service and the cost is about £100).

A seat cushion will be included.
