Here we have a quite scarce antique Spode Copeland's China pattern R4860 dinner plate, featuring exotic birds of paradise perched amid various types of flora and fauna surrounded by a floral wreath surrounded by an elaborate and colorful geometric floral band on the rim. Please see our store for more reasonably-priced, contemporary, vintage and antique dinnerware, China and pottery. We're always happy to combine shipping at actual cost.

Vintage: this pattern went into production in 1913; retirement date is unknown

Maker/Marks: Spode Copeland's China/see photo of marks

Approximate Measurements: 10.25" diameter

ConditionOur photographs reveal the condition best -- please enlarge and zoom in on them, and examine them carefully. We often add graphics such as arrows, circles, and text boxes to our photos to point out things of interest that might be hard to see, such as a price tag or maker's mark, as well as to highlight many condition flaws. Very clean and fresh piece in overall good antique condition, with no chips or cracks, and no stains, silver/gray utensil marks or crazing. Moderate amount of scratches to the transfers in spots, and considerable amount of scattered light, completely colorless, scratches to the glaze that typically are visible only when held up to direct light at just the right angle. In this case, due to the considerable number of them, they are more noticeable than normal. Still a very beautiful plate, and 100% serviceable.

We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report. Corndogcache is a 100% non-smoking environment, and we'll let you know if any of our vintage items smell like it (or anything else) from activities they may have been involved in before they came to us.
