Belonging to the 2000 series that redenominated the currency making 1 new ruble worth 1,000 of the old rubles, the Belarus 5,000 Rublei is a violet and pink banknote that measures 150 x 74 mm. Its obverse side features the Palace of Sports building in Minsk, while the reverse side shows ski jumps at the Raubichi National Olympic Winter Sports Training Center in the Minsk District. The banknote also features a cross-country skier with a rifle, also called a Biathlonist, as its watermark for security.
