Pumbaa is a warthog. Together, he and his friend Timon adopt Simba and raise him. Timon and Pumbaa are a very funny teach Simba the Hakuna Matata philosophy to help him deal with the death of his father. Hakuna Matata means “no worries”, which is the reason why Simba is so happy with Timon and Pumbaa.
