This uncirculated 500 Japanese Yen banknote was issued in 1969 with a dimension of 159 x 72 mm. The obverse side of the note depicts a portrait of 19th-century statesman Iwakura Tomomi with plum blossoms on the side. The reverse side features a scenic view of Mount Fuji and its foothills. The note does not contain any security threads however a watermark image of cherry blossom flowers and wavy lines are made visible under UV light.
