Historic Watch 

Founded in 1721 by a decree of the Emperor Peter the Great, the Petrodvorets Watch Factory has always been linked to the great names and great achievments of Russian history. For example the "Raketa" brand name was created in 1961 in honor of the first cosmonaut in the worl Yuri Gagarin. With its moving parts all produced in the Factory, and with a design marked by DNA of three centuries of Russian history, the Russian brand "Raketa" acquired a strong reputation amongst worldwide collectors. 

Mechanical Watch 

Raketa is one of the few brands in the world whose mechanical parts are produced from "A" to "Z" within its own Factory. This even includes the spring, the beating heart of the watch, and the most difficult part to make. This tiny spring is made from a secret alloy with a precision dow to 0.5 microns (0.0005 mm). Very few other watchmakers in the world have the ability to do this.

242 PARTS

If you wear "Raketa" mechanical watch you are carrying on you wrist no less 242 separate components. The manufacture of one of these involves of 103 specialists, and 8201 separate manual operations. The Factory, which is still housed in its original building in Peterhof (Saint Petersburg), uses traditional machines opereted by men and women who gave a piece of their talent and their soul to each wathc they make.

1721 - Peter the Great establishes the “Imperial Peterhof Factory”

1762 - Factory cuts the diamonds of the Great Imperial Crown

1895 - Factory specialists work with the watchmaker Talberg

1934 - Factory takes part in the production of Kremlin stars

1938 - Factory starts producing precision ruby stones for watch mechanisms

1941 - Factory participates in the war effort by producing precision components for the military

1945 - The watch brand “Pobeda” is created by order of the Kremlin in April 1945

1961 - “Pobeda” watch — first watch ever to go to space!

1961 - Factory produces watches under the new brand “Raketa” in honor of Yuri Gagarin’s space flight

1967 - Grand Prix World Exhibition “Expo-67” in Montreal

1969 - Soviet polar explorers wear “Raketa” watches

1971 - Factory is awarded the order of the “Red Banner of Labour”

1980 - Factory produces the official watches of the Soviet Olympic Games

2015- Raketa Watch Factory produces the biggest watch mechanical movement in the world

2017 - Watch model for space exploration developed with the Russian astronaut Sergei Krikalev

2021 - The Manufacture celebrates its 300th anniversary since its foundation by the Emperor Peter the Great
