You are viewing exquisite Russian original heavily carved bronze and malachite figurine  by  after ROBERT COHOUN made of solid imperial bronze of the Russian Empire. This is a rare solid Russian malachite carved with a Cossack wearing a traditional costume made of bronze on the top. The top is magnificent and features wonderful figuring and size.

An antique Russian original heavily carved bronze and malachite figurine after  ROBERT COHOUN, Russian, 1806 to 1879. The figurine is modeled as a Cossack wearing a traditional costume, fur hat, coat, trousers and boots, and holding his gun and standing near the polished shallow bowl. Mounted on a malachite base.

KOHUN Robert (Roman) Yakovlevich (1797-1879). Owner T. D. "Nichols and Plinke". 1865: aged 68, gentleman, in the merchants since 1842, kop. 1st guild., living. in Vasilchikov's house at 16 Nevsky Prospekt. Juvelery Factory, produced various bronze objects, production volume 300 thousand rubles, 138 workers. The heirs continued the business in 1880, after which the company was liquidated.

"Nichols and Plinke" - St. Petersburg company "English Store", founded by William Plinke and Karl (Konstantin) Nichols. Factory of the firm from 1842 to 1879. maintained by a merchant of the 1st guild, Robert Yakovlevich Kokhun. It produced silver table and tea sets, vases with sculptural images, and household items. Famous jewelers S. Arnd, I. Henrikson, A. Tobinkov worked for the firm. The court office of the Russian Imperial Court purchased luxury items through the Nichols and Plinke store.
