AUTHENTIC VERY RARE SELMER Bb BUGLE !

Before I started to list this item today I cleaned the leadpipe and played Taps on it

both as a tribute to all heroes who sacrificed their lives so we can live our lives and also as a prayer for those who push people apart with their conflicting ideologies in our times. Peace ✌️ TO ALL . 

This Selmer bugle horn is perfect for taps and sounds very sweet. It is Bb flat horn but after extending leadpipe it will go half step lower to the key of A, so calls can be played in two keys and half step lower a bit easier for the chops. 

This horn is very rare and I have never seen one . Selmer most likely produced a very limited quantity of these. Serial range in stamped on the bell below Selmer logo and it has 4 digits perfectly visible. Showing two #74xx range. 

The length from the bell edge to the end of bell bow is 18” and the bell flare has 5.75 “

This is in overall very good shape but it’s been played and condition shows that. There is some scratching and smaller dings and shallower larger dents in the bell bow areas.SEE ALL PHOTOS AS THESE ARE A LARGE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. 

There is few corrosion dots near water valve. Bell flare is fine and the awesome part is the leather piece protecting the pipes and great for secure grip during performing outdoors or indoors. This bugle also has two banner hooks on the front and back / also could be used for carrying the bugle on a strap ( not really recommended but optional ) . This is a large horn reminds me a rotary flugelhorn but without valves. It can fill up the hall or outdoor space with a beautiful sound. It is a pro made Bugle ! 

Sad so say but unfortunately Selmer brand is not making any more instruments of the trumpet nature anymore so this maybe your only once in a lifetime opportunity to get such a horn . If I would have bugle gigs etc.. I would def not let this horn go.
