INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR EMBLEMS:
Front
Access to the emblem.
On most vehicles you can open the hood and access the back of the grille without removing anything. On some models you will have to take the plastic panel, which runs the width of the truck, off to allow access to the back of the grille. On these models the panel is held down with screws or plastic clips. The plastic clips have a center piece you “pop” up a ½” with a flat blade screwdriver and then remove the whole clip. There are usually about 8 clips. On a few other models you may have to remove the grille for easier installation. It is usually held in place by several screws.
Old emblem removal
The original emblem is held in a couple of different ways. Most of them have 2 push clips over 2 plastic studs that hold it too the grille. Some have a plastic tang on the stud that you have to push to release it. Once you determine which one you have, either remove the clips (this can be difficult using a flat blade screwdriver can help), or push the tangs and remove the old emblem.
Installing the new emblem
With the new emblem out of the package install the studs (provided) in the threaded holes on the back of the new emblem. DONOT OVERTIGHTEN THESE AS YOU CAN PULL THE THREADS FROM THE EMBLEM. Once you have the studs installed simply insert the emblem. (Make sure the top is up if it doesn’t fit quite right try flipping it over) When you have it set, install the flat washers and nuts (AGAIN DONOT OVERTIGHTEN) and re-install any plastics, or the grille if you removed it.
Rear
The rear emblems are held on with double sided tape. To ease removal you can heat them with a heat gun or a hairdryer. Always pay close attention to the paint so you don’t overheat it and bubble it up. The old emblem has 2 plastic alignment studs so you have to pull it straight off not up or down. If you choose to try and pry it off make sure you protect the paint and don’t pry too hard. Once the old emblem is removed make sure the surface is clean and free of any wax, old tape, or dirt. Peel the protective covering off the tape on the new emblem, and install it to the vehicle. Make sure it is level before you attach it.
