Acurite Weather Station Model 01536 with PC connect.
This is the version where you have to connect to your PC and leave it connected, to upload your data to the internet or you computer. To upload to "Weather Underground" you will need Acurite's wireless access point which is an option.
I have one these stations myself and it's very accurate, provided that you place your sensor in the right place around your home. It comes with Alkaline batteries but it's highly recommended that you use Energizer Lithium batteries. The lithium batteries will give you 3yrs under the right conditions and won't leak and destroy you electronics.
Also as part of the deal you get a free weather radio, Midland model WR100. This has all the storm alerts with SAME technology from the National Weather Service. Weather radio tend to be a little more reliable than the cell phone text service as they don't depend on the internet for operation. As point of good measure it's always good to have both in service.
The weather station is reliable and is a good starter station for those getting into the hobby. The one I have has withstood tropical storms and high winds. If you have never had a weather station before I suggest that you go to You-tube and do some research before buying to eliminate unnecessary disappointments leading to returns of product.
