Description:  Cockade is of a pattern in the shape of a red five - pointed star bearing gilt plough and hammer in its Centre as a distinction for soldiers of the new army retaining their old uniform.  The cockade is made of anodized aluminum with a goldish coating. Method of painting is cold enamel. The cockade is fastened with a clamper (or “the barbs”).
Caps Emblems – Red Star Insignia of the Soviet Army.  Soviet Army Emblems of the immediate post-war period were largely identical to cockade worn during World War Two, emblems have been preserved after the war. Among the few changes introduced towards the end of this period was the authorization of brass leaves on visors of officers' parade caps and allowing those same officers to wear white-topped caps in the summer the same cockade emblems. Parade caps with cockade worn by the common soldier and sergeants remained exactly like those authorized.
