Le Ba Dang (1921-1915) was born in Bich-La-Dong, Vietnam. He emigrated to Paris in 1939 where he fought in the French Resistance Army against the Nazi invasion. He was subsequently captured and held in a prison camp, eventually being released and going on to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His first solo show was in 1950. Dang used his success to rebuild his devastated village in Vietnam, and was honored by his home country with a Le Ba Dang foundation and museum.
Shunko Deshima was a Japanese Artist-Painter, especially popular in the 1930s..
