Yussuf the Ostrich, written and illustrated by Emery Kelen.

Published in 1943 by The Hyperion Press and distributed by G. P. Putnam's Sons.

This large (7 X 10 in.), approx. 90 page hardcover is the exciting story of an ostrich who battles the Nazis in North Africa during World War II, with the help of a couple of dachshunds!

Color and black and white illustrations throughout.

Good condition.

Comes in its original dustjacket, which is worn along its edges, with small chips and tears and some light brown foxing/oxidation stains.  It's very presentable now in clear, removable mylar.

A gift inscription was erased from the top of the half title page, thinning the paper there.  The book is otherwise unmarked, complete and securely bound, with light brown oxidation stains on a few pages.  Spine ends are frayed.

Free shipping in the USA.
