PLEASE READ ON FOR A DESCRIPTION OF THIS SHOW AND SERIES AND THEN IF YOU DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT RADIO SHOWS, PLEASE READ ON FOR MY HUMBLE 'RADIO SHOWS 101' DESCRIPTION OF RADIO SHOW HISTORY AND WHY THEY ARE SO SPECIAL

I am beginning to list several of rare broadcast oldies compilation shows which I am offering for the first time.

In fact, it is the only radio show in the country in which I advertised my Keith's Kollectables  site because of its unique format and world wide availability through the internet.

If you ever listened to 5000 watt WLBE AM 790 radio in Leesburg, Eustis and The Villages, Florida locally, through its website, or the Tune In app,   you heard live every night

THE NIGHT TRAIN SHOW WITH MIKE IN THE NIGHT ,

ONE OF the definitive oldies series of all time in terms of its content and variety, it was broadcast nightly in the Orlando, Florida market for over seven years, throughout the United States and around the world live every weeknight on the Tune-In radio app and the WLBE website.

MIKE IN THE NIGHT was broadcast live on radio station WLBE in Leesburg, Eustis, and The Villages,  Florida.   It is a 5000 watt AM station with informational/local programming in the mornings and oldies from the 50's - early 70's in the afternoon, evenings, overnights and weekends.

You could listen to WLBE live locally in Central Florida on 790 am with a signal radius of about 100 miles all directional or on my790am.com throughout the world or on the Tune In app for smart phones.

THE NIGHT TRAIN WITH MIKE IN THE NIGHT aired nightly from 6 pm - 11 pm although like Howard Stern in his broadcast days on terrestrial radio, the show rarely ended when scheduled at 11pm.  Mike sometimes went on all the way to midnight or until, as he promised,  'the last request is played.'

What makes this show unique is that it is true oldies and not just what you hear on oldies radio playing the top 40 songs of the year.

Mike played not only from the top 100 of every year of the early rock era but from the top 150 of every month using Billboard Magazine, Cash Box Magazine and Record World Magazine listings especially for those songs that peaked under the Top 100 but were valid regional hits in the country!

Most music was from approximately 1955 through 1972 and because doo wop and R&B oldies can go all the way back to the real roots of rock in the late 1940's and early 50's, Mike played them too.  Every night was an education in music.

Every night had a unique theme such as The Monday SpecialTwin Spin Tuesday,    Wacky Wednesday      Instrumental Thursday     and the Friday Night Sock Hop.

In addition, each night featured listener requests from around the world and other themes such as artist profiles, one hit wonders,  producer/songwriter tributes , summer songs, car songs, holiday tributes, peaking below the Top 40, Hot 100's from the show date in history, The #1 hit from each year from 1955-1975 for the show date,   and others

Songs selected in all artist/singer songwriter/producer themes include their best known work but also unique presentations that are not often presented such as the artists early work before they became stars and some material from later years after they faded from the public spotlight but still were turning out great music.

There are also regular features every night such as

ELVIS AT 8 where four songs covering all aspects of the King of Rock and Roll's career are featured including movie music, live performances, and gospel.

At 7:30 or 8:30 every night MIKE IN THE NIGHT presented a special DOO WOP feature presented by The Doo Wop Music Discovery Club, a large doo wop club from The Villages, Florida, the largest retirement community in the country, which researched the history of doo wop music and presented two songs every night tied together by a special theme and including many rare and largely unknown but wonderful pieces of music often with additional information about each song.

Many shows include an episode from that featured crime fighter and caped crusader Chickenman who, if you listened to radio in the 60's, you knew and loved just as I did and do!

You also heard vintage commercials from the era of the show and radio station id's and jingles from stations all over the country along with WLBE's own jingles from the 70's and artist jingles from the TM Century vaults.

MIKE IN THE NIGHT was listener driven and much of every night's music came from listener requests.  Listeners are often put on the air live to present their own request.

AND after that last request is played, music from the station playlist of over 1000 hours of oldies from the 50's, 50's and 70's  continued uninterrupted all night giving the listener continuous music from the early days of rock, a special feature reminiscent of Dick Bartley's American Gold show which offered four songs in the clear at the end of each show for syndicating stations to add to their music library.  You get an extra number of great songs following the end of each show until the top of the next hour.

THE NIGHT TRAIN SHOW WITH MIKE IN THE NIGHT is the actual aired show of every night  with four to six hours of great oldies.  The 7 pm - 9 pm hours each contained two or three minutes of local commercials each hour.  There are no commercials during the 9 - 12 pm hours except for the top of the hour break which is not included in the CD's you will receive.

Duplication of the show was through Video Doc Productions, Inc., a professional  music duplication company with many awards for its quality of duplication services in cooperation with the ownership of WLBE which sponsored the distribution.

The show comes on 3 to 6 CD's depending on the show's length that evening, depending on sports programming overruns, never before played, and along with its cue sheets.

Each hour contains between 18-20 songs giving you up to 100 unique songs during the four to six  hour show.  The songs cover rock and roll, rhythm and blues, pop, doo wop, and all the special features.

And remember, you will hear the hits that you remember PLUS many many songs from the top 150, not of the year but of any given month in the early rock era.

Songs that you may not have heard are often described by Mike to fill you in as to the artist, year, and record label, and for regional hits, where they were popular.

Many of these are songs that you have probably forgotten but when you hear them you may often immediately say to yourself, "Hey, I remember that song - I haven't heard it since the time when ...!" Believe me, you will say this and smile at the music that you haven't heard in so many years.

It is the best oldies show on the air and that's why I advertised on it every night.

Through a production agreement with WLBE ownership and management and the use of the professional duplication services, these great shows became available to the general public

Keith's Kollectables has the world wide exclusive selling rights for this show.  You will not be able to get it from anywhere else.

These shows were recorded nightly on WLBE's archive computer directly from the sound board so they are pristine.  They also include all the errors that can occur in live radio since they are not edited like major syndicated shows are.  It is live radio at its best.

Mike in the Night is a music lover from his growing up days near Boston.  He cut his musical teeth listening to local celebrities Arnie (Woo Woo) Ginsburg on WBOS and WMEX in Boston, Norm Prescott and Alan Dary and Dave Maynard on WBZ in Boston, Dick Summer on WBZ in Boston and later on WNBC in New York, Allen Freed in New York City, Jonny Dark in Washington, DC and Baltimore, Murray The K,  and many others.   He plays not only the music but tells the stories behind the music in a way that will captivate and entertain you.

His own dj experience came from his years running his own pirate station, in high school right under the FCC's nose in the Washington DC area,  in the US Navy as a dj on various ships,  and was a frequent guest at various AFRTS overseas studios.  You won't hear the polished made for broadcast from Mike but what you will hear is a love and respect for the music and the relationship with the listeners from all over the world.

It is true Americana and you will never see these shows again. They are from an era past and never again to be heard in the same way

You will get the perfect show, in beautiful shape.     These are genuine collector's items  that you will treasure and which will increase in value as all radio shows, especially the quality shows like this one completely disappear from the market place or become too expensive to afford.

As long as I have them, I will sell them for as reasonable a price as I can.

YOU WILL REMEMBER EACH SONG AS IF YOU WERE THERE, ENJOYING THEM WITH THAT SPECIAL FRIEND.     YOU NEED TO COLLECT THIS WHOLE SERIES TO ENJOY THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF ROCK AND ROLL BUT EVERY SHOW IS A MASTERPIECE IN ITSELF!

It is an amazing collection and certainly one of the rarest ever presented from this show.  It needs to be in your collection.     You will hear wonderful songs, many of which you have not heard in a long time.  And they are all there for you.

SO HERE IS THE BIG QUESTION IF YOU DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT RADIO SHOWS:

  WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW?

 WHY COLLECT THEM?

WHERE DO THEY COME FROM?

Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them.

Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break.

Many air on Saturday or Sunday mornings, afternoons or evenings or less often on weekdays or during overnight segments.

They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others.

People collect them for various reasons.

Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all.

Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music.  Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation bought at Wal Mart or downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj comments which were very entertaining.

Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments.

Some collect commercials especially old car commercials but certainly not limited to only those.

AND, these shows are in limited quantity.

They were pressed just for affiliate stations in the United States.

Many have just a few still in circulation.

Some of the more popular shows may have as few as a couple hundred of each week's show pressed but think about it.  A couple hundred for some 200 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be.

This show itself was only broadcast live and streamed  on the Tune In app and the station website.  Only WAV recordings from the soundboard are available

These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them.

The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase.

I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a  guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money.  I sell them for near what I bought them for.  I give volume discounts and discount postage always.  As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years have decreased.

And, I have one of the biggest radio show libraries in the world consisting of over fifteen thousand unique shows, so many that I don't even know all that I have and am sometimes amazed when I go to look for one show and find another that I did not realize I had.

Finally, it is Americana at its best.

Whether the show be from the 60's or 2000's, rock, countdown, oldies, country, classical, religious, jazz or big band, it is unique and home grown.

And you just can't find them anywhere.

Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any.   Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of music radio.

And every  one you buy is  an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions in the hundreds at most and most, like this special show,  much less.  Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life!  Welcome to the Club!

Also, keep in mind that this and all the music radio shows are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere.  It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining.

As well, it is a piece of radio history.  You just aren't going to find these shows anymore.  Think of what they will be worth in a few years!  (IF you wanted to sell.)

I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price; in fact, believe it or not, I paid a lot more than you will for most of these shows than you will.

As always, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy for US buyers  and for my international friends,  so the more you buy the more money you will save.

Good Luck and God Bless You.
