This is a very fine and unique offering. This is a Wakasa-nuri lacquered low table from Japan. Wakasa lacquer is an 18 step process using eggshells, mother of pearl, pine needles , and more to create a unique finish that " evokes images of the deep ocean and starry skies." All of the 18 steps are done by a single artisan from start to finish. This table was brought here from Japan where it had resided for about 40 years. The table has black lacquered base, and spectacular patterned lacquered top. The condition is near perfect but we can see that it has 1 area of touch up that can only be seen only when you look at the reflection on the surface. It is about 1/2" wide and 4" long. The colors are fine, its just the clear finish.  Of course this is not visible at all with the glass top it came with ( not in pictures). The fitted glass top will ship with the table if you wish to have it. This item is pick up only or arrange for blanket shipping. Please contact us with any questions.
