All seeds are collected each growing season and are 1-year old or less, stored in air-tight Mason jars. Seeds are harvested and labeled for storage each season, one plant/seed type at a time so seeds do not get mixed by accident during the process! The seeds we use at the start of each growing season come from the exact same seeds we sell.

ABOUT THESE SEEDS: Red Ghost Pepper
Other names for this variety include Naga Jolokia and Bih Jolokia. The red ghost chile typically grows between 2.5 to 3.5 inches (6.35 to 8.89 cm) long. The long, pendant-shaped pods typically have a bumpy texture. And, like most chillies, red bhuts start off green before officially turning red.
The Ghost Pepper measures at 1,000,000+ Scoville Heat Units. It offers some pretty intense heat. The hottest ghost pepper can be said to be 416 times hotter than even the mildest jalapeño pepper which should average about 5,000 Scoville Heat Units on the Scoville Scale.
Ghost peppers offer an intense fruity, sweet chili flavor. The heat does not kick in for 30 - 45 seconds. Once the heat kicks in, expect sweating, watery eyes, hiccups and shortness of breath. The burning generally intensifies over 10 - 15 minutes and subsides after 30 - 40 minutes.
Sow seeds in flats or pots 8 to 10 weeks prior to the expected outdoor planting date. Sow them shallowly, around 1/4 inch deep. Hot peppers, and especially super-hot peppers, have a well-earned reputation for being finicky to germinate, but you can increase germination rates by providing bottom heat (highly suggested).
