Brinn's of Pittsburg, Pa. was founded in the early 1950's and was family owned and operated. They were wholesalers of art ware, figurines, garden pottery etc. By 1959 they were distributing imports from Japan & England. This pair of figurines from Japan is an example of their imports.

The boy is holding an umbrella and stands 8 1/2" tall. The base is 2 1/2" X 1 1/2". The girl is holding a water can and stands 8" tall. The base is 2 1/2" X 1 1/2". Both figurines have the Brinn's red label and the blue Made in Japan label. The girl also has a price sticker stamped $1.97 and reads Lane Housewares.

Back in the day figurines were wiped down with an antiquing to give an older appearance. If you try to wipe this off sometimes the paint will rub off. I only lightly dusted and any further cleaning is at your discretion. This is an estate sale find. (water bottle for sizing only).
