Douglas A-1 Skyraider

The Douglas A-1 Skyraider is an American single-seat attack aircraft in service from 1946 to the early 1980s.

The Skyraider and a long and successful career well into the Jet Age and was nicknamed "Spad".

The A-10 was designed to provide close air support (CAS) to friendly ground troops by attacking armored vehicles, tanks, and other enemy ground forces; it is the only production-built aircraft designed solely for CAS to have served with the U.S. Air Force.

It was operated by the United States Navy, the US Marine Corps and the USAF.
