Lovely copy of the 1876 first edition of the Great Bonanza, with information about gold and silver mining, rafting, oil prospecting and extraction, hunting, fishing, whaling in the then-untamed American west, by various authors. It is really a very wide account of the state of the West in those days, regarding various industries and exploitations, communities, camps, trails, as well as Indians and mining camps...  all the western tapestry described in amazing first-hand detail. And rife with lovely engravings all throughout. This copy is in excellent condition, with a bit of wear on the cover but no damage to the boards. There is one loose page, and a section that is slightly loosening, but it is all intact otherwise and very beautiful. A rare copy.
