Contemporary Hand Woven Mixed Technique Turkish Folk Art Rug
Hand woven in Eastern Turkey using handspun wool and natural dyes.

A work of genuine contemporary folk art. This rug is made from a combination
of kilim weave and knotted pile. It pictures figures, animals and trees in a background of red variations.
The pile in this rug is untrimmed giving it a "fuzzy" quallity

The rich colors come from the use of natural dyes.

Each rug is hand woven in Eastern Turkey by adult women and therefore unique - no two are exactly alike.

Use it as a wall hanging or a floor piece.

The dimensions are 40 x 25 1/2 without the fringe; 47 x 25 1/2 with the fringe

In an effort to accurately present the colors of the natural dyes used in the making of this rug, photographs were taken using different lighting and  backgrounds:  in outdoor natural light and indoors using only synthetic light;  and a combination of natural and synthetic light.

This rug was recently mothproofed.
