Contemporary Hand Woven Mixed Technique Turkish Folk Art Rug
Hand woven in Eastern Turkey using handspun wool and natural dyes.

A work of genuine contemporary folk art. This rug is made from a combination
of kilim weave and knotted pile. It pictures a delightful country scene
of figures, animals, butterlies and a snowman in an eccentric weave multicolored, multilayered sylized landscape.

The rich colors come from the use of natural dyes.

Each rug is hand woven in Eastern Turkey  by adult women and therefore unique - no two are exactly alike.

Use it as a wall hanging or a floor piece.

The dimensions are 57 1/2 x 29 1/2 without the fringe; 65 1/2 x 29 1/2 with the fringe. The fringe is nicely tied off with multi-colored wool thread.

In an effort to accurately present the colors of the natural dyes used in the making of this rug, photographs were taken using different lighting and  backgrounds:  in outdoor natural light and indoors using only synthetic light;  and a combination of natural and synthetic light.

This rug was recently mothproofed.
