The STAINLESS STEEL outer flange is far superior to the black plastic flanges that crack and break. This combo is perfect for thru the wall dispensing such as converting a refrigerator into a beer dispenser. Most refrigerator walls and doors are 3" - 4" thick and with the 1/2" flange the 5 1/8" shank is enough in length to attach the hex nut with beer hose.
