The Kenya 1,000 Shillings Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Kenya in 2019. The brown banknote bears English and Kiswahili texts. Its obverse depicts the Kenyatta International Conference Center in Nairobi with a seated Kenyatta statue and the tower and amphitheater buildings. It also shows Mount Kenya and an elephant. The reverse displays the Parliament building and the clock tower in Nairobe. The note contains a flying dove and bank monogram registration devices, a red-to-green rainbow windowed security thread with demetalized bird and CBK 1000. It also shows a watermark that reveals a lion’s head, an electrotype CBK / 1000, and Cornerstones. The note is 142 x 70 mm in size and is signed by Patrick Njoroge. This particular paper bill is in uncirculated condition.
