A variety of acrocarpous and pleurocarpous moss species are included in each pack- each meticulously hand-selected and carefully arranged only using premium quality grade moss that can be used for a variety of creative green projects: from terrariums, mossariums, vivariums, frog enclosures, bonsai dressing, fairy gardens, flower arrangements, moss gardens and more.

Moss has been sustainably sourced and cultivated in a small-scale, sustainable way. 

Care:

Low maintenance, easy care moss- bright, indirect light and mist with water regularly, and water whole plant 2-3 times a week. Use rainwater or dechlorinated water as they are sensitive to chlorine, and will turn mosses brown. If rainwater, filtered or dechlorinated water, you can use cool boiled water / leave tap water out for 24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate. 

While the moss can live on the moist sphagnum moss already in your waterproof container, you may wish to at some point create a 'false bottom' for longer term propagation and growth, consisting of a base layer of pebbles, followed by a layer of horticultural charcoal, and then sphagnum moss (to filter the top level of soil), then soil, and then the moss. They thrive in firmly packed acidic soils with a pH between 5 - 5.5, or any kind of substrate such as leaf litter, bark, rocks and the like. 

As they are bryophytes and have no roots, they absorb water and nutrients they need from the air through their surface, which is why misting is important. 

You'll know when they're thriving when they form dense green clumps, mounds or wide mats!

Packaging and Delivery:

Plants will be sent on top of a layer of moist sphagnum moss and safely and securely packed in a rigidcontainer to minimise disruption during transport. Container is 100% waterproof, reusable and recyclable and transparent so the moss can live in here until you’re ready to apply to your project!

It is highly recommended that if your postal address is in rural QLD or you believe there will be a long journey in the postal transit process, to select the Express Post option so that the moss arrives in fresh condition.

Plants cannot be sent to WA, NT or TAS due to biosecurity regulations.
