FASHIONED OF A HAND MADE CUT WORK TAMBOUR LACE OVER AN IVORY CREAM SILK SATIN. THE TAMBOUR IS RICH IN CUT WORK WITH ORNATE SCROLLING WITH LARGE ROSES IN THE PATTERN.
THE SLEEVES FALL LONG WITH A ROSE DETAILING AT THE OUTER ARM WITH A BILLOWING RUFFLING AT THE ELBOW AND A BOTTOM FITTED SLEEVE THAT CLOSES WITH FOUR FRENCH KNOT BUTTONS AND LOOPS.
COTTON BRIDAL NET ENCIRCLES THE NECKLINE WITH A HOOK AND EYE CLOSURE IN THE FRONT AND A CROSSING OVER SILK PANEL. EACH FRONT SIDE IS TRIMMED IN A BOW WITH SMALL SILK FLOSS COVERED BOB DANGLE BERRIES. THICK MACHINE MADE LACE BELTING ENCIRCLES THE WAIST WITH THE UNDER SKIRT TRIMMED IN TWO ROWS OF THE MATCHING MACHINE LACE.
CONDITION: HEAVY EVEN AGE COLOR IS SEEN TO THE TAMBOUR LACE THROUGHOUT AND ALL IS EVEN, PERHAPS SLIGHTLY DARKER IN THE SKIRTING. A SERIES OF TEN PINHEAD HOLES ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE SKIRTING JUST BENEATH THE BELTING WITH SIX PINHEAD HOLES TO THE REAR LEFT SIDE SKIRTING, JUST BENEATH THE BELTING. FIVE PINHEAD HOLES ARE IN THE TAMBOUR OF THE TOP.
THE CROSS OVER SILK PANEL IN THE FRONT IS MISSING ALL CORRESPONDING SNAPS, I SUSPECT A PIECE OF SILK MAY HAVE BEEN REMOVED. HOOKS AT THE CLOSURE ARE IN NEED OF A NEATENING AND ONE OF THE BOB DANGLES IS MISSING FROM ONE SIDE.
